Importancia económica de la empresa familiar. Una aproximación desde la política económica

Son múltiples los trabajos que ponen de manifiesto la relevancia de las empresas familiares en el bienestar económico, siendo por tanto objeto de interés por parte de las instituciones públicas. En este contexto, el trabajo pretende incorporar un análisis de la empresa familiar bajo el prisma de la política económica. La revisión de la literatura muestra que la relación entre los decisores públicos y las empresas familiares se desarrolla bidireccionalmente puesto que los primeros articulan medidas para favorecer el funcionamiento de las segundas, pero, al mismo tiempo, estas empresas se convierten en grupos de presión que, bajo una Ley de Say invertida, influyen en la actividad de los decisores públicos. En un enfoque aplicado, se comprueba que desde la Unión Europea se ha instado tanto a la Comisión como a los Estados miembros a fomentar iniciativas que hagan frente a los retos y a la generación de un entorno favorable para la implementación y crecimiento de las empresas familiares Finalmente, se ha realizado un análisis empírico en el marco de la política económica tomando como referencia cuantitativa el Family Business Report editado por el Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) en 2020.
