Celestina in Latin America: Old good times nostalgia as a celestinesque subject in Toro-Garland

This study consists in an intertextual examination of a celestinesque subject, which is the nostalgia of the «good old days», that has become a real leitmotiv in the literary rewritings of La Celestina published in Latin America since the last third of the 20th century. Through the analysis of Razón y pasión de enamorados (1973) by Fernando Toro-Garland, Terra Nostra (1975) by Carlos Fuentes and Manifiesto de Celestina (1995) by Marta Mosquera, it will thus be shown the different purposes assigned to this subject in the contemporary rewritings of Ultramar: nostalgia and the theme of old age, with which it is associated in the Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, not only participate in the adaptation of these new Celestinas into new fictional contexts, but also give an account on a rereading of the Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea by its Hispanic American impersonators.
