Abstract

The author of this contribution, a research professor of French Literature, reflects on his experience as a literary translator. He has mainly translated French poetry into Spanish, usually in a vocational way, which provides a personal slant on these reflections. For this reason the translator deals with issues such as the particular experience of literature which translation has meant to him, the influence of living authors on his work, his enthusiasm for translating and his anguish about the result, concluding with the perception of a margin of uncertainty in his own work, which assimilates it to the literary creation.
