Abstract

In this article we explain why prose fiction has lasted so much in being introduced in literature classes; the diferent genres that have been studied, especially realist novel; the reluctance with which novels have been received and the problems found once they have been accepted. We pretend with this work to give hints for new uses of prose fiction in the classes of literature in secondary education.
