About the Journal

Focus and Scope

ITAMAR is an annual publication of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences of the University of Valencia (Spain), oriented mainly to the dissemination of works on musical research and its relations with the rest of the Arts, Science and Philosophy.

ITAMAR also has variable content spaces called Territories. In these spaces, the magazine hosts commented works of artistic creation, articles by doctoral students, as well as reviews and book reviews, and events and reflections on education.

Peer Review Process

Double system of "blind judges" or peer review system.
Contributions submitted to ITAMAR must be favorably reported by two external reviewers appointed anonymously by the Editorial Committee (known as the double system of "blind judges" or peer review system).
The selection of external reviewers will be made based on academic merit, teaching curriculum vitae and professional experience.
The external reviewers will follow an external evaluation protocol prepared by the Editorial Board of the ITAMAR Magazine.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate free access to its content under the principle of making research freely available to the public, which fosters a greater exchange of global knowledge.

Ethical statement and good practices

The editorial team of Revista Itamar is committed to the scientific community to guarantee the ethics and quality of the published articles.
The publication takes as a reference the code of conduct and good practices that the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE) defines for editors of scientific journals.
In compliance with these good practices, the articles are evaluated by anonymous external peers with criteria based exclusively on the scientific relevance, originality, clarity and relevance of the work presented. The confidentiality of the evaluation process and the anonymity of the evaluators and authors, the evaluated content, the reasoned report issued by the evaluators and any other communication issued by the Scientific Committee or the Advisory Council are guaranteed at all times. In the same way, confidentiality will be maintained in the event of possible complaints, claims or clarifications that an author wishes to formulate to the editorial team or the evaluators.
Itamar Magazine declares its commitment to the respect and integrity of the published works. For this reason, plagiarism is strictly prohibited and texts that are identified as plagiarism or their content is fraudulent will be eliminated from the evaluation process. By accepting the terms and conditions expressed, the authors must guarantee that the articles and the materials associated with it are original and do not infringe copyright. The authors must also justify that, in the case of shared authorship, there was a full consensus of all the affected authors and that the proposed work has not been previously presented or published in another means of dissemination.
Following a principle of academic equity and equal opportunities for publications that meet the required scientific criteria, the ITAMAR journal does not charge fees for submission of papers, nor for the editing and publication of articles. For this reason, there are no subsidies associated with the articles.
