This article aims to reflect on the significant capacity of music in political and social processes. The patriotic songs written by the Valencian Josep Melcior Gomis (1791-1836) were works appreciated in their time, spread and that developed an important paper in the pedagogy and in the transmission of values in the period of radical liberalism between 1821-1823. This work is offered to theoretical reflection, as an example of the multiple value of music, as a discipline that is not only inspiring, creative and performative, but also as a powerful instrument for the construction of cultural meanings.Downloads
