Texts sent to the Articles section must have a high scientific level, linking their premises, methodologies, and conceptual frameworks to the current state of research, and represent an original and well-founded contribution to the general body of the discipline. Its extension will be between 8,000 and 10,000 words. In those cases where, without reaching this level, but inconclusive evidence or partial results of ongoing research are being provided, the evaluators may recommend, depending on their interest, the publication of a paper in the Notes and Research Progress section, which will be communicated to the authors for their approval.
Notes and Research Advances section accepts papers that, without being articles, are original and of scientific interest. Contributions to this section are subject to the same evaluation process as articles.
Experiences and Good Practices section is intended to disseminate the practice of local development. It is addressed to professionals and managers of local development to disseminate experiences and good practices linked to local development policies and initiatives. The maximum extension of the text will be 6,000 words. The proposals presented in this section will be evaluated only by the Editorial Committee.
Reviews section will include reviews of colloquiums, congresses and conferences, or relevant publications: manuals, academic publications, or scientific texts, of recent edition, linked to the area of local development. Information will be given about the theme, structure and contents of the publication or event under review, as well as the critical opinion of the author. Contributions to this section are to be no longer than 4,000 words.
Doctoral Thesis Abstracts section welcomes texts of between 2,000 and 4,000 words in length, in which the basic aspects of Theses defended in recent years (regardless of the doctoral programme) in the field of Local Development are included. That is, a succinct exposition of the reasons that justify the Thesis, its hypothesis or research question, objectives, methodology and main results. Summaries of Theses of a (i) fundamental nature (aimed at the progress of the discipline thanks to the consolidation of cutting-edge knowledge and approaches), (ii) experimental (incorporation of new concepts, processes, products and services), and/or (iii) applied (aimed at providing standardised responses to complex real situations, from which to assess the impact, relevance and/or coherence of specific territorial projects) are accepted.
