Editorial practices in gender equality

Memorabilia is firmly committed to the policies of inclusion and gender equality in our society, in the academic and research environment, and to good editorial practices on equal terms for men and women.

The journal is responsible for a balanced composition of women and men, with a commitment to equality in the different organizational charts of the journal, as well as reflecting this equality and balance in the participation of the reviewers who evaluate the papers.

Memorabilia recommends the use of inclusive language in the writing of all works submitted to the journal for evaluation and that the active role of women in society is taken into account, and that it is in accordance with the principle of equality between the sexes. In this sense, it is recommended not to use the generic masculine to designate all the individuals of the class or group by terms of generic value, to use explanatory syntagms or, if none of the above is done, the use of split formulas is hardly recommended. Likewise, research papers submitted to the journal should avoid stereotypes and gender bias in universal references. For a more concrete development and examples, it is recommended to review the corresponding section on the United Nations website.
