The present volume of the journal Quaderns de Filologia: Estudis Lingüístics aims at highlighting the relevance of Onomastics for the study of language, especially lexis and etymology. We have attempted to do so with a collection of 15 articles: 7 dedicated to the study of ancient lexis preserved through toponymy, three about the history of toponymy and etymology; one about toponymic theory; two on semantics and toponymy, one on deonyms and, last, aone on the personal article in Occitan language.
