Resumen

(Post)Truth and Politics in Liberal Democracy

Abstract: So-called “post-truth” has been signalled as one major reason to explain the crisis of liberal-democracy, which is currently threatened by the emergence of populism and extremist movements. However, there is no agreement about the nature or seriousness of that particular threat. The reason is that we do not know how politics and democracy relate to truth, nor how should they relate to each other in a pluralistic framework. This paper attempts to answer these questions and offers an account of post-truth.
