Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript submission

The submission of manuscripts will be done only through the online platform of the publication Cuadernos de Geografía de la Universitat de València, accessible from the URL: https://turia.uv.es/index.php/CGUV/index

All manuscripts must be original works not previously published in any other medium or in any other language and that are not in review period in any other publication. Works presented orally or in poster format in congresses, seminars and similar events will be considered as original and, therefore, susceptible to be considered for publication.

The manuscripts must be written in one of the four languages of the journal: Catalan, Spanish, English or French.

2. Type of manuscripts and length

The works published by Cuadernos de Geografía de la Universitat de València can be of two types:
a. Articles. Texts that will present research developed by the author or authors on a topic within the thematic scope of the journal. Maximum length of 9,000 words (including bibliography and footnotes, excluding title, abstract and key words), and counting maps, graphs and tables (or other graphic material) separately. Each of these elements will be equivalent to 300 words for the purpose of maximum extension.
b. Reviews. Brief texts that will present the information and critical assessment of recently published books on a topic within the thematic scope of the journal. Maximum extension of 2,500 words (plus bibliography).

3. Format and edition

Texts must fully comply with the guidelines that can be consulted in this document and the normative of the language in which they were created. Authors are urged to verify the correct wording of the text, as well as to use an egalitarian language that does not discriminate or invisibilize any gender.

4. File format

Text files will preferably be processed in LibreOffice (.odt) or Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). The text will be edited according to the styling rules established in point 3 of these guidelines (Format and edition).

Image files will be in .tiff format and will have a resolution of 300 dpi. The color images will be published with their original palette in the digital format of the magazine, and will be converted to grayscale for their eventual publication in the paper edition.

5. Rejection of manusripts

They will be excluding criteria for the non-acceptance of works:
- Exceeding the maximum number of words for the type of contribution
- Not to use the citation format in the manner indicated
- Not to send the work in the required format or without the indicated style
- Any other circumstance that the Editorial Board considers inadequate for the publication of the work

Researchers wishing to coordinate a Special Issue should contact the Editorial Team and send a provisional 'Call for Papers' that will be assessed by the Editorial Board.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses submitted to this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal and will not be available for any other purpose or person.

The data collected from registered users of this journal is within the scope of the standard operation of peer-reviewed journals. Includes information that makes communication possible for the editorial process; it is used to inform readers about the authorship and editing of content; allows to collect aggregate data on the behavior of readers, as well as to track the geopolitical and social elements of academic communication.

The editorial team of this journal uses this information to guide its publication and improvement. The data will not be sold by this journal or PKP nor will it be used for purposes other than those established here.

Those who participate in the publication of this journal try to comply with the industrial data privacy standards, including the provision of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union for "rights of interested persons" which include:
a) Notification of non-compliance
b) Right of access
c) Right to be forgotten
d) Data portability
e) Privacy by design

The GDPR also allows the recognition of the "public interest in the availability of data", which has a special relevance for those individuals involved in maintaining, with the greatest possible integrity, the public registry of academic publications.
