This paper presents the features of mobility in the Community of Madrid. On one hand, the increasing of displacements and flows trends moving to the periphery are stated, which points out a not sustainable mobility. On the other hand, Madrid presents some positive peculiarities that allow it to have higher rates of public transport than in the rest of European metropolitan areas. Following this characterisation of mobility, the explicative keys of this pattern are analysed and we conclude with some remarks on the ways to follow to achieve a sustainable mobility, enhanced in its territorial model.Downloads
