The analysis of daily mobility due to working and studying reasons in the Valencian Community between 1991 and 2001 highlights how, in a general context of increasing mobility, its patterns are changing (relationships with age, gender, economic branch of occupation, level of studies). Moreover, using the comarca as the territorial unit for analysis, we can see very different mobility growth rates. It is in the first and second metropolitan rings around the Valencia city where the highest flows growth is observed, both intra and inter comarcas; this is a fact underlying the marked metropolitan character of the process under way, although daily mobility is growing across the whole region.Downloads
