This article intends to explore social struggle in a rural spot of the Valencian interior examining those conflicts, which were raised in the ¿Ayora-Cofrentes Valle¿ region by the initiative of building a waste management plant in the village of Zarra. In other words, we deal with a peculiar example of different perceptions and interests of territory. The study of the process will concern the legislation on waste management; the socio-economic analysis of the area; the dynamics of the emerging social conflicts; the various plans for the waste management plant; the participating actors; and future scenarios on the conflict in general.Downloads
