Abstract
La sequía es un concepto climático sin una definición comúnmente aceptada, debido a la multiplicidad de causas y a la gran variedad de formas en que puede presentarse. En esta nota se destacan y resumen los diferentes grupos de definiciones, sus bases naturales o antrópicas, los enfoques de las variadas metodologías de análisis y las causas de las sequías en diferentes áreas geográficas representativas.
