About the Journal
Focus and Scope
RELIEVE is the first peer-reviewed, open access scholarly electronic journal published in Spain. As an instrument of communication for the educational community, with its focus on educational research, assessment and evaluation, RELIEVE seeks to examine the communication possibilities and interactivity offered by th e Internet.
Peer Review Process
As a procedure to guarantee the quality of the journal and the adjustement to its objectives, papers sent to be possibly published in RELIEVE will be evaluated by specialists in the topic who will apply a 'double blind' (Ensuring anonymity in the process for authors and reviewers) review method.
The review procedure is the following:
- Papers sent to RELIEVE will be firstly reviewed by the Editorial Committee, which will reject straight away any document that does clearly fail to observe RELIEVE's Editorial Policy. Accepted papers will be secondly reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers. From their reports, the Editorial Committee will decide whether the article will be published, or its author will be suggested to change those aspects that the reviewers dislike and send it again, or the article will be rejected. Anyway, authors will be informed of the final decision as soon as possible. Every decision will be justified, in particular decisions of refusal.
- Reviewers will be given forms, which will be published, to help them to carry out their evaluation.
- A list of the reviewers who have collaborated in the last numbers of RELIEVE and the number of reviewers per article will be published regularly.
By taking advantage of the increasing possibilities that new technology offers, we intend to develop a system which permits a continuous open review. Thus, any reader would be able to comment, suggest or criticise the articles published in RELIEVE.
Publication Frequency
Our date of edition is open. It means that the articles of an issue are not published at the same time, but they are published when they have been accepted to be so. It will be always within the date of the issue and volume.
Open Access Policy
RELIEVE has the rights upon the articles published in it. However, as its purpose is knowledge dissemination, article reproduction and distribution (in any kind of medium) is allowed provided that the following conditions are complied with:
- Its content must not be altered.
- Its origin must be cited (journal RELIEVE, volume, number and electronic site of the article.)
