The main goal of this article is to define a specific literary system: children’s poetry published in Catalan in the Valencian Region in the new millennium. More specifically, we will try to demonstrate that the main traits considered by the academic critics as characteristics of children’s poetry in Spain can be also found in this literary field, albeit its peripheric situation. For so doing, we will focus on the only collection completely devoted to children’s poetry that exists now a days in Valencian Region: «Vagó de versos» (Andana Editorial). Once established the corpus, in the second part we will define the main characteristics of children’s poetry the Spanish context by reviewing the main bibliography regarding the genre. After that, we will define the main traits of the corpus focusing on three different dimensions: the peritexts, the main themes and formal devises, and the visual characteristics. Finally, in the conclusion we will summarize the results and we will confirm the hypothesis of the survey.
