The adaptability of a language depends on the intralingual multilingualism of the speakers, that allows them to use the appropriate dialect in each situation. A language, therefore, is inevitably a set of dialect-languages. These have unequal relations with the privileged space of the standard, which is the only linguistic entity constructed. In this paper we want to reflect on the tensions between dialect-languages and standard language.
