Historical Diablotexto
The Historical Archive contains the six volumes from the journal’s first phase, which was inaugurated in 1994 with the publication of a monograph on literary creation and critical praxis in 1990 Spain. Number 2 (1995) was a tribute to Juan Carlos Onetti, who passed away the previous year. Number 3 (1996) dealt with the treatment and history and exemplariness in the Middle Ages, and number 4-5 (1997-98) was a monograph on actor and audience in the Golden Age, dedicated to the memory of Professor John E. Varey, deceased while the volume was in press. Number 6 (2002) was a monograph assessing 20th century Spanish Theatre, with a tribute to Stefano Arata, who died in July of 2001. Number 7 (2003-2004) was dedicated in its entirety to Max Aub.
All of the past volumes contained the different sections that defined the journal in its early days and which, in this new phase, have been recovered. The contributions specific to each monograph are organized the in section titled “Baza de Textos”. The section entitled “Sobretextos” held a good number of reviews of academic works, including evaluations on different topics in the subsection “For debate”. Finally, the section “Cuestión de textos” contained reviews on the most recent literature.
It was our desire to offer these first volumes in digitalized format as a way to recognize to those who originally began this project and in particular to Professor Joan Oleza, founder of the journal in its first phase and, therefore, honorary director of this version we now begin.
