Abstract

One of the fundamental problems of Europe in recent years is the instituted demand to ask all countries to apply the same measures, regardless of their actual situation. So far, Europe has been too focused solely on a balanced budget. The technocratic drift thus produced led us to the serious crisis we are witnessing: a boulevard on which anti-European populisms are flowing at full speed. Europe must, therefore, be rebuilt. And the European refoundation must aim for a Europe that multiplies protections, security and opportunities. But for this refoundation to succeed, it is necessary to clarify the foundation on which to achieve it: rule of law and solidarity.
