Egypt – Tunisia – Arab Spring – terrorismAbstract
The Arab uprising drew attention in the West to the relationship between these events and terrorism. However time has passed and the elections in Egypt and Tunisia as well as the subsequent triumph of Islamic-leaning political groups has prompted to challenge both the initial interpretation and a link as narrow with terrorism as it was supposed. In this paper we analyze the relationship between the “Arab Spring” and terrorism, their proximity and their remoteness. Of course the question remains and no one can predict both the prospect of the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions nor the instability and economic uncertainty and the future of these transitions.
