Abstract

Akind of avant-garde theatre became strong in Spain at the beginning of the nineties. The establishment of the Centro de Nuevas Tendencias Escénicas, directed by Guillermo Heras, in 1984, supposed to be its first boost. Afterwards, some of Heiner Muller’s plays were translated into Spanish, which influenced clearly on this avant-garde theatre. The Pradillo theatre opened in 1990 and some avant-garde performers settled during the following years. This paper focused on the dramatic criticism and three of these performers: Carlos Marqueríe, Antonio Fernández Lera y Rodrigo García.
