Abstract

The aim of this article is to study the profile of the university population and the best way to prompt it could not be other than allowing the protagonists to speak. Therefore, the intention of this study was to mark out the social phenomenon of the “occupation of being a student” in the Spanish University, modestly contributing to the sociology of high education. It was possible to clarify which are the main profiles within the student population, to understand how they
practice their occupation as students, what type of bonds they maintain with their studies and how they are going to be affected by the forthcoming changes.
