Abstract

Gertrudis de la Santísima Trinidad (Elx, 1660 - Cocentaina, 1736), abbess of the convent of Nostra Senyora del Miracle (Cocentaina, Kingdom of Valencia), was a prolific women writer under the obedience of the spiritual confessor. However, only a small part of all her production (in Spanish) has reached us, which corresponds to the last stage of her life. Her spiritual confessions are testimony to the mystical process: feeling, understanding, and communicating. The nun exemplifies a way of feminine spirituality and a devotional and intimate religiosity within the cloister.
