Abstract: The aim of this paper is to study the poetry of female Catalan writers during the interwar period using two methods: on the one hand, comparative literature, relating them to English writers of the same period, and, on the other hand, feminist criticism, using some of its paradigms. The second objective is to vindicate the quality of some of these authors, such as Roser Matheu, M. Teresa Vernet, Simona Gay, Maria Perpinyà and Cèlia Viñas, and to highlight their importance in contemporary Catalan literary history.
Key words: women’s poetry, catalan poetry, english poetry, interwar period, literary criticism.
