Feliciano da Silva, in his Segunda Celestina takes up Rojas's burlesque treatment of love through the love letters exchanged by three couples belonging to widely different social extractions. Silva exposes the extravagant deformation suffered by this epistolary genre, that had brought about considerable success to Diego de San Pedro, and offers a comic epistolary survey denouncing its trivialization and moral degradation.
