Abstract

This research article focuses on the analysis of the playground as a key educational space for comprehensive development and learning. Through the study of two playgrounds in different schools, the aim is to identify elements that favour or limit children's play and exploration. The interest in this subject arises from our own experiences in educational centres, recognising the great importance of improving the educational quality of playgrounds. An exhaustive investigation will therefore be carried out, including both interviews with teachers and activities with 5-year-old pupils, in order to define what they would consider to be an ideal school playground. The aim is to demonstrate the benefits of this space for children's development and to advocate its importance as a place of freedom and exploration. Using an interdisciplinary approach, various strategies for creating inclusive and stimulating co-educational playgrounds will be explored.
