Author Biographies

Charo Lacalle, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Charo Lacalle is a Full Professor of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She holds degrees in Journalism and Philosopy. As a Visiting Professor, she has taught classes and seminars in several European and American universities. She coordinates the research group OFENT (Observatory of Spanish Fiction and New Technologies) and the Spanish group of OBITEL (Ibero-American Observatory of TV Fiction), where she has developed various research projects on social construction of identities in television and internet. A semiologist and specialist in audiovisual analysis, Dr. Lacalle has numerous publications in books and prestigious journals specialized in media communications ( Critical Studies in Media Communication, International Journal of Digital Television, Comunicar, Communications: European Journal of Communications ). Her last book: (In)dignidades médiaticas en la sociedad digital (Cátedra).

Nicola Dusi, Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia

Nicola Dusi. PhD in Semiotics, he is Associate Professor of Media Semiotics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy), Department of Communication and Economics. He deals with the theory and analysis of film and television seriality, digital media and, in particular, the relations of translation between arts and media. His publications include the monographs Il cinema come traduzione (2003); Dal cinema ai media digitali (2014); Contromisure. Trasposizioni e intermedialità (2015); Capire le serie TV. Generi, stili, pratiche (written with G. Grignaffini, 2020).
