Roc Chabàs was an ecclesiastic and historian who practised as an archivist canon for the cathedral of Valencia, where he carried out an emblematic work classifying documentation. He was the publisher and director of the magazine El Archivo, Revista Literaria Semanal, later El Archivo, Revista de Ciencias Históricas, between the years of 1886 and 1893 – year in which the publication ended. In this magazine, numerous documents from diverse historical archives were published, above all documents from the historical archive of Dénia that were related to the history of the town and of the Valencian Country. The aim has been to lay down the criteria that historian Chabàs used when carrying out the transcriptions of the original manuscripts.Downloads
