In the second section of La Realidad y el Deseo Luis Cernuda pays tribute to some poets of the past: from Orpheus, the father of poets, to Mallarmé. It’s a gesture of gratitude to our classics, those who have written in his our language: Garcilaso de la Vega or Fray Luis de León. To pay tribute is a way of entering given a tradition. It is a way of showing how the past reaches the present. In this case it is also a vindication of Poetry and Poet.
