Abstract

From a historigraphic point of view, it is worth analysing how, in the Italian Novecento, writers have been able -sometimes importantly and sometimes eevn decisively- to promote (not to reduce or to adapt) theatre activity exceptionally, leading it to frontiers farther away from the establishment, even as regards artistic quality, through inventions. In the Italian theatre of the last century, exceptions, with their respective inventions, havve been disregarded, although some of them have planted seeds that wll grow on new soils.
