"Che vale a dire un uomo?": spunti di ontologia animale in Leopardi
Keywords:
Giacomo Leopardi, Roberto Marchesini, Philosophical Ethology, Posthumanism, ZooanthropologyAbstract
The contribution focuses on the theme of animal onthology in Leopardi, from his early poems to his Moral Tales, with occasional references to the Canti and The War of the Mice and the Crabs. By drawing on zooanthropology and philosophical ethology as formulated by Roberto Marchesini, the essay discusses how the fragility of the living condition provides Leopardi with the opportunity to appeal for the nurturing and protection of both humans and non-humans.
