La comunità dei viventi, a book by Idolo Hoxhvogli, offers a reflection on the human condition based on themes such as alienation, control, and the emptying of meaning in contemporary life. The journey is not only physical but also symbolic, aware of the invisible and the mystery. The subject, nomadic and in need of transcendence, is suffocated by technocracy. Man is reshaped to be enslaved to power. Individual freedom and natural rights are compressed. Civilization takes on the appearance of a dystopia in which social life is disconnected from nature, beauty, personal identity, and historical memory. In such a society, man finds a space for himself in solitude. The rediscovery of spirituality nourishes hope. The cross of Christ, despite its fragility, opens a path to redemption.
