The controversial but, at the same time, productive relationship between Pontecorvo and 20th Century History’s writing. Kapò and the definition of Holocaust Movie:between production issues and expressive compromises. The critical controversy caused by Jacques Rivette, and renewed some decades after by Serge Daney. The Battle of Algiers: the international success obtained with the most political and militant film. The film’s aesthetic precipitate that floods in the most heterogeneous range. Ogro, or rather “the guilty conscience film”: Luis Carrero Blanco’s assassination and the end of Francoism in the last Pontecorvo’s feature film, aesthetically a blend between political work and contemporary action film.Downloads
