Focus and Scope

Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories is a scientific journal that publishes original articles on the protection, enforcement, and promotion of the rights of linguistic minorities, and on issues arising from the intersections between language, the social dynamics of domination and oppression, and the law. The journal publishes original scholarly works taking descriptive, critical, empirical, and theoretical approaches from intra- and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Publication Frequency

Journal items will be published twice a year collectively, as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents.

Open Access Policy

Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories is an open access journal with two regular issues per year, published in April and October. The cost of processing the manuscripts (APC) is entirely supported by the Board.
The journal is guided by the principle that providing the public with free access to research contributes to the generation, exchange, and dissemination of knowledge globally.

Copyright

Authors retain the moral and economic rights to their works. They grant Just, Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories a non-exclusive license for the first publication. Authors may enter into additional agreements for the publication of the article or modified versions (including modified title), provided they clearly state that the work was first published in Just.

Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories does not make commercial use of the texts it publishes or receives.

As an open access journal, Just permits readers to reproduce its content, wholly or partially, as long as authorship and first publication in the journal are properly credited.

Content published in Just is protected under an Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license, allowing third parties to copy and redistribute the work in any medium and format for any purpose, even commercially, as long as the material is not transformed, and ensuring that its authorship and initial publication in this journal are credited.

Authors must indicate acceptance of these terms by checking the designated box in the Submissions form when submitting a proposal for publication.

Gender Policy

Just is committed to promoting gender equality and measures to counter gender bias. The journal publishes a minimum of 40% articles authored by women in each special issue, uses full names in references to make female authorship visible, has no limits to maximum allowable references, which are excluded from total word count, maintains diverse referee pools, and does not accept exclusionary language. Authors are encouraged to follow gender-aware dissemination practices.
