About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories is a scientific journal that publishes original articles on the protection, enforcement, and promotion of the rights of linguistic minorities, and on issues arising from the intersections between language, the social dynamics of domination and oppression, and the law. The journal publishes original scholarly works taking descriptive, critical, empirical, and theoretical approaches from intra- and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Peer Review Process
Articles submitted to Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories must be original and previously unpublished. Just maintains a diverse referee pool to check for social biases in academic publishing.
Stage 1
All articles will undergo a plagiarism test compliant with COPE standards. After the originality of the submission has been verified, the editors will determine that the article fulfills the academic standards. At this stage, articles may receive a desk rejection or proceed further to the next stage.
Stage 2
All the papers that the meet those standards will further proceed to stage 2. At this stage, articles will be submitted to a double-blind peer-review process. Authors will receive the results of this review and, when appropriate, they will be asked to introduce any changes suggested by the reviewers and the editors.
Blind review
Authors are requested to ensure that the submitted article files include no personal details. A double-blind peer-review process relies on ensuring that authors and reviewers are availed of no information that may reveal the identity of each other. Please remove any personal details from any files before submission. Personal details include but are not limited to name and surname, email address, academic position, biographical notes, etc.
Authors should ensure that the following steps have been taken:
1. The names in any reference to the authors' work have been deleted from in-text citations and the complete reference in the reference list at the end of the article have been removed. The text "AUTHOR" may be used instead of both the in-text reference and the end-of-the-article reference list.
2. The properties of the file have been cleared. In Microsoft Office go to properties under the File tab on the main menu, delete any information in the fields, and save.
Personal information will be added to the article in the final stages of the editing process.
Stage 3
The authors will be required to introduce any suggested or required changes and modifications and submit a new version of their paper, where appropriate. The editors will then check their recommendations have been adequately considered. Authors are encouraged to submit a report of the suggestions taken and rejected. When necessary, a second review round will be set up.
Stage 4
After all necessary review rounds have been completed, the editors will notify the authors of their decision regarding their paper.
The decision will be one of the following:
- Accept submission: the article is accepted and no (further) changes are required.
- Reject submission: the article is rejected when the result of the review process is negative.
- Revisions required: the author is requested to make the changes suggested by the reviewers before accepting it for publication.
- Review and resubmit: if reviewers or editors consider that the work necessary to bring a submission to publication standards is considerable, the authors will be asked to resubmit their paper at a later time to allow for major changes to in the work to be introduced.

Publication Frequency
Journal items will be published collectively, as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents.
Open Access Policy
Just. Journal of Language Rights & Minorities, Revista de Drets Lingüístics i Minories is an open access journal with two regular issues per year, published in April and October. The cost of processing the manuscripts (APC) is entirely supported by the Chair of Linguistic Rights of the University of València with funding from the Generalitat Valenciana.
The journal is guided by the principle that providing the public with free access to research contributes to the generation, exchange, and dissemination of knowledge globally.
Gender Policy
Just is committed to promoting gender equality. It publishes a minimum of 40% articles authored by women in each special issue, uses full names in references to make female authorship visible, has no limits to maximum allowable references, which are excluded from total word count, maintains diverse referee pools, and does not accept exclusionary language.
