The Spanish educational system requires, as a basis for training, knowledge of the cultural environment. In relation to this we could highlight the following quotations: "The opening of the school to the environment, to the social realities that surround it and also to the progress of culture in its different manifestations." Within the sources of the Curriculum is the sociological one that explicitly explains the social and cultural demands that society expects from the Educational System, the knowledge, procedures, attitudes and values ??that contribute to the process of socialization of the students, to the assimilation of knowledge Social and also among the principles of the didactic intervention is collected "The development process, although it has an internal dynamics, is inseparable from the cultural context in which it occurs." Among the general objectives proposed for Primary Education is "to know and respect the main artistic manifestations present in the environment, as well as the most outstanding elements of the cultural heritage, developing own evaluation criteria". To summarize as a general rule: ".. Artistic production is part of the cultural heritage of a people. Consequently, artistic education must allow access to this cultural heritage, its appreciation, recognition of variations in criteria and styles over time And from one society to another.Any artistic representation has a meaning that is drawn from its historical cultural context, from its evolution in history. The access to these representations is a way of also accessing the values ??and meanings of the respective epochs and Companies.
