This article analyzes Celestina’s pain as a configuring element of the character in the text written by Gómez de Toledo. The physical and emotional wounds become a materialization of the moral and social values of the old woman, thus showing an original treatment. Pain analysis allows us to build an emotional culture represented in the celestinesque.
