In this article, I propose the possibility that Celestina was born in a university milieu, and specifically, that of the University of Salamanca, that it was planned as a work for an audience of scholars and students, and that a printed edition was supported by diverse intellectual currents intent on fomenting curricular reforms. I also suggest the possibility of the intervention of Alonso de Proza as editor.
