Valentín Paz-Andrade, a Galician intellectual, was a scholar and propagator of Brazilian literary culture in Galicia. The consolidation of the link between Brazilian and Galician cultures resulted in his entry speech to the Royal Galician Academy, entitled “A galecidade na obra de Guimarães Rosa” (1978). In this work, the author elaborates a thesis about the Galician-Minhota origins of the Rosian lexicon and inscribes this lexicon in the Galician-Portuguese matrix. We have news of the genesis of the preparation of the speech, and its subsequent translation into Brazilian Portuguese by Paulo Rónai, through the epistolary, composed of 52 letters (1974 to 1988), between Paulo Rónai and Paz-Andrade (available at http://consellodaculturagalega.gal). Considering the theoretical and critical assumptions of the “archives of creation”, term of Genetic Criticism, this study intends to analyze the active correspondence of Paulo Rónai in order to understand the genesis and the stages of the elaboration of Paz-Andrade's thesis.
