Abstract

Exile and Translation duality is a topic of great interest for Comparative Literature. On the one hand, the cause-effect relationship between one and the other (the exiles leading to translation and translations that motivate exiles) can be studied; and secondly, the translation may be, in itself, a form of linguistic exile, either of the original work, either of their own literary language of expression. This is a topic that involves issues such as censorship, the literary language use in biographical or historical conditions and some other aspects as the one discussed here, the forms of «internal exile» of those authors who had to take another language as a literary language for their translations.
