El Llibreter is a blog about books and literature. As any other blog, it shows the common features of this kind of web pages – for instance, the personal nature of writing. However, in this blog a pseudonym – rather than a pen name – is used to conceal any reference to a real identity. Thus, the autobiographical pact does not fulfil the description of the blog. The pseudonym introduces several elements that lead to an ironic frame, which avoids that the blog is considered a literary criticism web page. Moreover, irony, among other textual and functional features, can be related to the writing of diaries and, in a more general way, to the essay as a genre.
