A confrontation between Elena Ferrante and Anna Maria Ortese: the city of Naples, the gateway, the identity

Abstract
The paper wants to propose a comparison between the Italian writers Elena Ferrante and Anna Maria Ortese. Through a critical reading of Elena Ferrante’s most important work, L’amica geniale, we will obtain clues to approach the character of Elena -the protagonist of the story- to the person of A. M. Ortese. This vision of the city of Naples, interpreted as a place of origin and return, a refused but, at the same time, well loved homeland, shows us the most evident affinity between both authors: a symbol of Italy and of the impossibility of change that the two writers presage and write about.

Adele Ricciotti
Adele Ricciotti (Rimini, 1980) consiguió el doctorado en Filosofía con título Europeo en 2010 por la Universidad de Bologna (Italia) con una tesis sobre María Zambrano. De 2007 a 2010 ha colaborado con la revista Studi di Estetica de la Universidad de Bologna. Ha publicado el libro María Zambrano. Etica della ragione poetica (Faenza, Mobydick, 2011) y varios ensayos en revistas internacionales. Entre sus publicaciones más importantes se pueden citar los capítulos ‘Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin e Michel Foucault: vita, morte ed estetica dell’esistenza’ en Filosofia e popular music (Mimesis, Milán, 2013); ‘Il Dionisiaco e le sue forme nell’opera di María Zambrano’ en Apollineo e Dionisiaco (Aracne, Roma, 2010); ‘Alla ricerca del vuoto. Un confronto tra i pensieri impossibili di María Zambrano e Simone Weil’, en Filosofia, Estetica ed etica: otto percorsi di ricerca, (Aracne, Roma, 2009). Además, ha publicado ensayos como ‘Antonia Pozzi. La poesia dell'anima’ en Cuadernos de Filología italiana, (Publicaciones Universidad Complutense, Madrid, año); ‘El doble significado de la Nada y de la Creación en el pensamiento de María Zambrano’, en Estudios Filosóficos (nº 181, vol. 62, Valladolid, 2013) o ‘Método y simbología en la razón poética de María Zambrano’ en Annales Universitatis Mariae Curie– Sk?odowsk (Lublin, Polonia, 2011). Actualmente vive en Madrid y colabora con el centro de investigación “Pensamiento español e iberoamericano” de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) donde colabora en un proyecto sobre la crisis del individuo en la edad contemporánea. Es Socio de la Asociación de Hispanismo Filosófico (AHF) y desde marzo de 2013 forma parte del Consejo de Redacción de Zibaldone. Estudios italianos.
