Abstract

The social and individual benefits of higher education include the positive effects on the employment and working conditions. This article presents evidence of some contributions of higher education for Spain. Individuals with a university education have an average rate of activity higher than the average population, a probability of lower unemployment, higher probability of having a permanent contract and a salary income level above other groups of individuals. Although these differences are widespread favorable to all university, there are significant differences by academic branch belonging to the studies that have been completed.
