When we read the Celestine we perceive in some aspects how the urban life works in the second half of fifteenth century. At that time the vitality of a dynamic society in Castilian cities was the consequence of economic growth in the Kingdom. The author, Fernando de Rojas makes use of urban reality as well as their living experience. Some aspects in the play are placed in urban context and the matters and values connecting with the humanistic influence. As we know in the University life one of the intellectual’s debates was about the question of the «middle class» in Aristotle influence and that subject was mentioned in the play. The great importance of this work that deals with universal themes is compatible with the inclusion of some aspects of the current situation.
