This article approaches the analysis of graphic variations treatment in the Diccionario del español dominicano; these variations can be caused by dialectal phenomena or loanwords. The existence and frequency of these variations make the dictionary to clearly establish the lemmatization criteria applied to their selection and graphic representation. A detailed study of this process shows the significant consequences that lemmatization produces in macro and microstructure of this lexicographic work and contributes to define the applicable criteria to improve new editions of this dictionary.
