Abstract
The present work tries to use the theory of criticism as sabotage to analyze The Republic of Wine. Through a “close reading” and a thorough review of the context, the intertextuality, the ironic and parodic style and the complexity of literary space of this novel, we try to analyze the “allegorical reduction” of this “afepto” to see how the three world models confluence and how Mo fulfills the literary and social function –“reflect, explain and modify social reality” (Rodríguez Puértolas, 2008: 41)– of a writer.
