Abstract

The article discusses a variety of productions of Sergi Belbel’s Mòbil and their reception by theatre critics. It includes a brief analysis of an interview conducted by David George with Simon Boberg, who translated the play into Danish and directed its world premiere in Copenhagen in 2006. The universally hostile reviews in the Barcelona press of Lluís Pasqual’s Teatre Lliure production (2007) are contrasted with the much more favourable reviews (again of Pasqual’s version) in Milan and Girona and also the generally highly positive view of performances in Luxembourg and in several German cities.
