Abstract

In this paper, about gender equality at school, I move from some particular data on equality/inequality in the EU, Spain and Andalusia, toward a revision of the topic according to the feminist research contributions and inequality dimensions it points at. Therefore, I focus on equality policy in education, taking account of the EU guidelines, to descend to the State level and, finally, to focus on the development of equality policy in education at the Andalusia level, which pioneers the implementation of a Equality Plan in Education. I conclude the paper appealing to the need of putting into relation theory and practice, research and educational intervention, in making gender equality true. In doing so, I draw upon concrete coeducational experiences.
