Feminism, epistemology and social transformation, 30 years of Collection Feminismos

Abstract

This paper proposes a reflection on contemporary Feminist Studies understood as a fundamental hermeneutical tool to analyse in depth the androcentric bias of knowledge and the intense inequalities derived from patriarchy and capitalism. To this end we focus on the Colección Feminismos of the publishing house Cátedra which was launched in 1991. We believe that it is remarkable, in times of anti-feminism reactions, weak thinking and post-truth, such as those we are living in, the commitment of a collection that has given birth to key titles that not only address power relations and the mechanisms that support the gender-sex system but that have had, and continue to have, the ability to offer analysis and reflections of a theoretical and political nature both for the university environment and to feed the debate in the public sphere.
