The objective of this article is to show how feminist theory has faced the current patriarchal reaction: the one carried out by queer genderism. To do this, first, it will give an account of the patriarchal reactions that have emerged after each wave or period of feminist advances, placing the current one in a much broader and more accurate historical context. Second, the characteristics of the current patriarchal reaction will be specified, whose ties to neoliberalism and some conceptual traps introduced by postmodernity are worthy of critical reflection. In this sense, queer genderism will be pointed out as a stabilizing and functional element for both patriarchy and neoliberalism. To this end, the recent works of Alicia Miyares (2021) and Kajsa Ekis Ekman (2021) have been considered as two of the most pertinent to exemplify the response of feminism to genderism.
